1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of data stored by your browser. Session cookies normally end with the browser session; persistent cookies remain until expiry or removal. Similar device storage is subject to the same relevant privacy rules.
2. Cookies Used by PDFly
PDFly currently uses first-party cookies required for sign-in, session security, and your sign-in choice. They support the service you request and are not used for advertising or cross-site profiling. Public pages do not require a sign-in cookie.
Authentication cookies use Secure, HttpOnly, and SameSite=Lax on the production HTTPS site. Browser session restoration can affect when a session cookie is removed.
| Cookie | Provider and category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| __Secure-better-auth.session_token | PDFly / Better Auth; strictly necessary | Keeps your authenticated session and links it to your account. | Up to 7 days, refreshed during active use; browser session if you choose not to be remembered. |
| __Secure-better-auth.dont_remember | PDFly / Better Auth; strictly necessary | Stores your choice not to keep a persistent sign-in session. | Browser session. |
3. Optional Cookies and Third Parties
No optional analytics, preference-tracking, advertising, or retargeting cookies are currently deployed by PDFly. Operational logs described in the Privacy Policy are server records, not an optional browser analytics integration.
If optional technologies are introduced, we will update the inventory and obtain any required prior consent before activation. You will be able to withdraw that choice. When you choose Google sign-in or a future external checkout, that provider may use cookies on its own service under its own notice.
4. Cookie Settings and Browser Controls
Open Cookie Settings in the footer to review the current categories. PDFly currently uses only necessary authentication cookies: there are no optional cookies to enable or reject and no optional-cookie consent is collected.
You can sign out or use browser settings to inspect, remove, or block cookies. Blocking necessary cookies can prevent sign-in and authenticated document operations. Clearing cookies does not delete your account or documents stored by the service.
5. Changes to This Policy
We update this notice when cookies, providers, lifetimes, or relevant requirements change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Optional technology will not be activated merely because this notice has changed.
